It is more complicated, but I don't think that it will go into effect
until 1998 - and therefore isn't on our exam.

Subject: Definition of ALAE
On p. 24 of Feldblum Sched. P article, he says the "In 1997 the NAIC is
scheduled to adopt a new definition of ALAE, based on the nature of the
expense and not on an 'inside-outside' dichotomy."
Does anyone if this indeed went through in 1997? If so, does anyone
have more information on exactly what the change in definition of ALAE
entails? Was there any other changes besides not worrying about
in-house counsel vs. independent attorneys?
