I believe your answer lies in the section titled "And Actuarial Model o=
f
Loss Development" which was rewritten by Eric Brosius for the 1996 edit=
ion.
The new version is almost exactly 2 pages longer than the original,
although I have not compared content. Perhaps to cover your bases you
might want to get hold of a copy of the new version of that section.

I have the original 1990 version of the Foundations. Chapter 4 on Loss=

Reserving goes from pages 143-230. The edition on the Fall 1998 test i=

1996 edition, and chapter 4 has 2 additional pages (143-232).

Does anyone know what changes were made to the 1990 edition?
I would be grateful to compare the editions over the phone if necessary=
