My humble advice to Faith who's hit the wall. When memorizing stuff stand up
or better yet walk around. You'll concentrate better - well, at least you'll
stay awake! Work problems as much as possible. Start each problem solving
session with easy one's or one's you've done before to boost your confidence.

Keep the Faith,

Hi everybody. I know you're all crazily studying and probably don't have
time
to offer advice. If this is the case, I completely understand and wish you
luck on May 8th. However, if you can offer any advice I would appreciate it:

I know that 3 months ago I was complaining that the amount of work seemed
insurmountable and you're probably sick of my whining, but now I've come to a
new problem. I seem to have hit a brick wall. I've been studying pretty
hard
for the last couple of months, going over problems, writing notes, etc. Now
that it's the last week before the exam, it seems as though I've run out of
steam (I know this is not a good time to have this happen).

I was just wondering if any of you could share your strategies for the last
big week. It seems to me that I should spend most of my time reading over my
notes and the study manuals and trying to memorize as much as possible.
However, this is extremely boring and puts me to sleep. I also find that if
I
do not do problems, I sometimes can't remember how to start them right away
-
and since speed counts on the exam, this is not good. On the other hand, if
I
just do old exam problems, I think that I can pacify myself into thinking
that
if I can do all of the old problems, I'll do fine on the exam - which is not
true because they always find different questions the likes of which have
never been seen on an exam before.

I know you all probably have similar problems, but I would appreciate any
advice as to how you deal with it.

Thanks for letting me take up some of your very limited and valuable time and
Good Luck on May 8th.

Sincerely,
Faith
