Mary,

If this was an easy process, fellows would be a dime a dozen. It's
supposed to be challenging, even flat out difficult. Yes, we are
expected to know the details, but they can be memorized through a
variety of techniques. Just think of how many songs you know all the
words to. You have the ability to remember an amazing amount of stuff!
You just have to find a way to make it stick.

With three months to go, this is hardly the time to start giving up. As
you can see from all the e-mails that have already been traded, you need
to approach this process methodically, assessing what needs to be
covered and setting a schedule with goals you can stick to.

We have two chances at this thing before the transition takes place. The
worst that can happen is that we'll have to take another shot at it.
Don't short circuit yourself by thinking negatively. Make a list of
what papers you've covered so far and what you recall from those papers.
You may surprise yourself with how much you've learned!

If you have the ability, sign up for one of the seminars offered for the
exam. Purchase the ACTEX. Ask a lot of questions if you don't
understand how a previous exam question was derived from the papers.
That's what this study group is for. Take positive steps, and take them
one at a time.

The important part is that you continue to move forward toward the goal.
Eventually, we'll get there.
