I've found that the value of a seminar is 100% correlated with the teaching
abilities and preparedness of the instructor(s). Make sure you get several
recommendations from other students that have attended seminars with the
instructor in question. In general, I think the New England Actuarial
Seminars are well run; though, I've talked to colleagues that feel otherwise.

Does anyone know about any seminars in the NY area? I know the college of
insurance used to have them, but it wasn't listed in their last brochure.
