Shouldn't the formula # (1) on page 258 in Foundations (third edition)
be:

Var(M)=Var(X) + E(M) (not E(X))????

Also, Finger states that E(X)=E(M). I assume that this applies only to
formula # (4) on page 258. Is this correct and why?
