Example 4.3.2 on page 112 of the Actuarial Math textbook
uses the following expression to derive the amount in the
fund after five years:

1000(100)(l35/l30)(A35) the 35 and 30 are subscripts

I see from the preceding discussion that l35(A35) is the
amount in the fund after five years. I also see that
the fund originally starts with l30(A30), but I am having
some difficulty making the connection between these two
statements and the expression in the example.
