I think you raise a rather exciting possibility.... that goes well beyon=
d the election process.

In fact, if we go to some form of direct governance on issues, such as yo=
u imply in your post, then how the elections are held becomes a rather tr=
ivial subject!!!! In other words, if the "partitioning" question is to b=
e decided
based on exposition of the issues and then a public decision based on a d=
irect vote by the members, it doesn't matter much what the board or the v=
p's do!!!!

I think you are on to something here that is MUCH bigger than the electio=
n procedures per se and desreves its own thread!!! Something like "An ex=
periement in direct government by the people...." Are you up for startin=
g a thread
like that!!!
