However, one does not submit a statement of actuarial opinion, and then tell the
client or the regulator, "OOPS, I made a mistake," without a full explanation.
One does not file a rate decrease with an insurance department, and then tell
the DOI, "OOPS, we goofed. We need an increase instead," without a full
explanation. I hope the Part 8 Examination Committee does the right thing, and
explains why they released a pass list on July 1, without final approval, and
revoked it on July 2. Anyone whose status has changed deserves a thorough
apology.
I hope other members are also disturbed by an exam committee that seems to be
slightly out of control, and voice their concerns.
