Since I had such a great response when I got a similar note last year and
posted a note on this list, I'm trying it again.
He finished his Ph.D. at CUNY in Combinatorial Number Theory in 1993
and since then has been Assistant Professor at the Mathematical Institute
of the University of Stuttgart (Germany). Right now he's a Visiting Member
at
the Courant Institute of NYU. Now he's decided he wants to stay here. An
excerpt follows:
>
> I have always been very interested in finding a position at
> an interesting mathematical(research) group outside academia.
> As much as I love math, I am just curious to see how
> mathematical tools `work in the real world' and I am honestly
> really a bit tired of an university-environment.
> In addition I have always been interested in the connections
> between math and finances although I have never specialized my research
in

One complication is that he doesn't have a Green Card, which I would hope a
major organization could handle. I'm posting this with his permission; if
you're interested. let me know and I'll forward the info on to him.
Thanks.
