Tiziana,
I did a workshop and paper for a UK GIRO workshop in 1997 on applications
of neural networks in general insurance. Its probably a bit too big to get
through my e-mail gateway, but if you send me your snail-mail address I'd
be happy to post you a copy. It contains a number of references to other
papers.
Kind regards,
Julian Lowe

P.S. Any CAS actuaries working in Europe, or who may be able to pop over
to London from the US, might be interested to know that there is a one day
seminar on Friday 18 June held jointly by the UK Institute of Actuaries
and the C.A.S. The theme is a comparison of UK/CAS approaches in a number
of areas of work such as rating, reserving as well as looking at
differences in terminology, training and guidance. There are a couple of
other UK actuarial conferences being lined up. The first is a one and a
half day seminar on "Products and Pricing" on 13/14 May. This is aimed at
recently/nearly qualifieds, looking at developments in pricing techniques,
geo-graphic systems, fraud detection systems and the latest news on Motor,
Household and Commercial business in the UK. The "main" GI conference,
GIRO, is in Brighton on 13-15 October, which will have the usual range of
working parties reporting on a number of topics and workshops being
presented, as well as a few social events for good measure. If anyone
would like further details, please let me know.
