The goal of the fairs is to reach an important target audience --
promising students and influential educators in the Philadelphia and New
York areas who may have little or no knowledge of the actuarial
profession. The fairs begin with a light lunch and introductory remarks
by leaders in the profession. Then attendees will spend time in
break-out sessions on different aspects of the profession and the
actuarial education system. This year, a special educators track has
been added to the small breakout sessions. Attendees will also visit
several informational booths staffed by actuarial students, working
professionals, actuarial science teachers and SOA/CAS staff.
Friday, July 31, was the deadline for sponsorships for the Fair.
Corporate sponsorships are necessary to be able to offer lunch,
giveaways and the space and equipment needed for a quality program. We
are still short sponsors in some categories. The most critical need is a
lunch sponsor in Philadelphia and one of three lunch sponsors in New
York.
Please show your support by contacting the appropriate person at your
company or others to approve sponsorship. We extended the deadline to
August 7 for all sponsorship agreements. If you have any questions,
please e-mail me at mboa@casact.org or call 703-276-3100.
Sincerely,
