Description of Position: Selected candidate will be responsible for
reviewing property and casualty insurance rate filings to determine
compliance with state insurance laws; perform complex actuarial
calculations to determine whether property and casualty rate revision
requests are reasonable; analyze and interpret statutorily required data
and statistics of assigned filings, and make recommendations for action on
the disposition of filings. Individual will also serve as actuarial
consultant on the cost of legislative changes, review proposed legislation,
and develop recommendations for revisions of statutes.
Educational & Experience Requirements: Graduation from an accredited
college or university with a bachelor's degree in mathematics, statistics,
or actuarial science. Candidate should possess either a Fellowship or an
Associateship by examination in the Casualty Actuarial Society, and have a
minimum of five years of professional actuarial experience.
