The Department of Mathematics is advertising for a Fellow of the CAS or
SOA (Ph.D. preferred) or an Associate (Ph.D. or equivalent expected) for
a faculty position in actuarial science. This position will involve
teaching, research, advising actuarial science students and working with
industry contacts. The level of the research component of this position
will likely depend on the candidate selected.

If you have ever wanted to get into academia, this may be your chance.
More information about this position is listed at:

http://www.math.uiuc.edu/Positions/actsci.html

The actuarial science program at the University of Illinois is based in
the Department of Mathematics. However, there is a very close working
relationship between the Actuarial Science program and the Finance
Department (where I teach). Actuarial science students take a number of
courses in both areas.

If you have any questions about this position, please feel free to ask
me and I will try to get the answers.

Steve
