Responsibilities include reviewing property casualty rate filings to
determine compliance with law, determining reasonableness of rate revision
requests using appropriate actuarial techniques, analysis and
interpretation of data, and recommending action on disposition of filings.
In addition, cost analysis of legislative changes, review of proposed
legislation, and recommending statutory revisions are on the position
description.
The Department requires a bachelor's degree in mathematics, statistics, or
actuarial science and Fellowship or Associateship by examination in the
Casualty Actuarial Society. Also, candidates must have a minimum of five
years of professional actuarial experience.
