Career Center Frequently Asked Questions
Listed below are answers to frequently asked questions about the CAS Career Center. The CAS Office will post additional questions as needed.
Updated: 4 May 2009
Q: I'm interested in posting an Actuary position for the x company. Your website says that there is no charge for government postings, but did not say how to post it.
A: You need to create an account first in the career center. This account is separate from an account you may already have with the CAS. Once the account is created send an email to cmarx@casact.org with your name, the organizations name and an email address I can contact you at. A code will then be applied to your account and you will be emailed back. Then you will be able to post the job using your account. When you checkout the coupon is applied and you get the discount.Q: We are a State government agency serving the employers and injured workers of the State of x. Would we qualify for free job postings?
A: Yes. State Government, Federal Government and Universities are eligible. To get the discount you need to contact the CAS Office, cmarx@casact.org. The discount does not automatically apply when a job posting form is filled out.Q: Can job postings be extended beyond the 60 days? Would it be possible to post the positions on your site Until Filled as well, or would I need to renew them every 60 days?
A: You will need to renew the job postings every 60 days. The code is saved in your account so you do not need to contact the CAS Office to get the code re-applied. An email will be sent to you reminding you that the job is about to expire.Q: Can I view Resumes without paying for them?
A: You can view a limited portion of the resumes. You will only be charged if you contact the individual on the resume and they accept your contact request. The fee is $35 per resume.Q: I have account with the Career Center. Why can’t I get access to the rest of the CAS website?
A: The Career Center and the CAS website are two separate entities. You need to have separate accounts on both to get access. Please note that non-CAS members do not have access to the membership directory and other password protected areas.Q: There used to be a Jobs section, what happened to it?
A: In April 2008, the Jobs section was renamed Career Center and is now maintained by Job Target allowing the CAS to offer more options to job seekers and employers.Q: I previously had a job listed on the CAS website, do I have to setup an account with JobTarget?
A: Yes. As the CAS did not previously have online accounts you will need to setup one with JobTarget. If you have job postings listed on job target that are not showing up in your account, please contact JobTarget Customer Service to have your postings moved into your account.Q: I want to post my resume on the CAS website. How do I do that?
A: Within the Career Center, there is a place to post resumes. Resumes previously posted on the CAS website were not migrated over as the format is very different in the new system. If you previously posted a resume in the Job Wanted by Actuaries section of the CAS website you will need to repost your resume with Job Target. An email was sent to those affected at the time of the switch.Q: We would like to cancel the job posting that we placed on your website for the X Company position. Our deadline has passed and we have interviewed for the position. How do we go about doing that?
A: You can login into your account, and under "My Jobs" should be a list of currently active listing. Click the "Go" icon to "Stop" the posting or "delete" it entirely. "Go" will simply remove it as a listed by retain the listing in the database for future reposting.Q: I need help with posting a job on the website, who should I contact?
A: All Questions regarding the new career center should be directed to JobTarget Customer Service at either custserv@jobtarget.com or by calling Customer Service at 888.575.WORK(9675) (inside US) or 860.440.0635 (outside US).Please do not call the CAS Office as you will be directed to the Job Target contact information.
