Session Description

This webinar will provide you with an overview of cyber risk segmentation plan development from start to finish. The webinar will go over the following topics:

  • Data resources for cyber
  • Imputing insurable loss information for cyber third party incident repositories
  • Handling shifting class relativities over time
  • Tips for constructing cyber risk segmentation models
  • Determining rating factors when cyber data is not available

This session may provide attendees with 1.8 CE hour.

Presenters

Nick Irwin, FCAS, MAAA
ISO/Verisk

Nick Irwin is the Lead Cyber Actuary for the Specialty Actuarial Products division of ISO/Verisk in Jersey City, NJ. Mr. Irwin has 4 years of actuarial and predictive modeling experience in the property/casualty insurance industry. He has led the development of loss costs and risk segmentation models for ISO's new and existing cyber programs. He has also held past roles in commercial auto class plan modeling and workers' compensation reserving. He is a Fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society and a Member of the American Academy of Actuaries. He is also a member of the CAS Examination Committee.

Mike Doyle, FCAS, MAAA
ISO/Verisk

Mike Doyle is the Director for the Specialty Actuarial Products division of ISO/Verisk in Jersey City, NJ. Mr. Doyle has 25 years of actuarial and underwriting experience in the property/casualty insurance industry. He currently directs the development of various products in the specialty arena and has spearheaded the release of loss cost information for two new products (miscellaneous professional liability and cyber) this past year. Mr. Doyle has extensive experience in specialty pricing working both as an actuary and as an underwriter. He has been a Fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society for 18 years and he is also a Member of the American Academy of Actuaries.

CAS Continuing Education Policy

The CAS Continuing Education Policy applies to all ACAS and FCAS members who provide Actuarial Services. Actuarial Services are defined in the CAS Code of Professional Conduct as “professional services provided to a Principal by an individual acting in the capacity of an actuary. Such services include the rendering of advice, recommendations, findings or opinions based upon actuarial considerations.” Members who are or could be subject to the continuing education requirements of a national actuarial organization can meet the requirements of the CAS Continuing Education Policy by satisfying the continuing education requirements established by a national actuarial organization recognized by the Policy. For further information regarding the CAS Continuing Education Policy please visit the CAS web site.

CAS Webinars may qualify for up to 1.8* CE Credits for CAS members. Participants should claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity. CAS members earn 1 CE Credit per 50 minutes of educational session time, not to include breaks and/or lunch.

*The amount of CE credit that can be earned for participating in this activity must be assessed by the individual attendee. It also may be different for individuals who are subject to the requirements of organizations other than the Casualty Actuarial Society.
