The 1998 Spring Meeting of the Casualty Actuarial Society provides a forum for actuaries and other insurance professionals to stay abreast of current issues affecting the insurance industry. This meeting will allow actuaries to pursue their continuing education requirements.
General sessions are planned on a variety of topics including "The Future of the Actuary," "Junk Science and Insurance," "Business and Technological Strategic Mergers," and "The Effect of Science and Technology on Risk Classification and Underwriting." The featured speaker is Dr. Barry Asmus.
The meeting will highlight papers from the 1998 Discussion Paper Program, "Dynamic Analysis of Pricing Decisions." In addition, a variety of concurrent sessions are planned.
Time has also been allotted for informal discussion with other CAS members. In addition to two scheduled receptions, attendees and accompanying persons will enjoy a Caribbean Adventure at the resort on Tuesday evening.
