Phantom Horse Golf Club @ The Pointe South Mountain Resort

Please plan to join us for the 22nd annual Casualty Actuarial Society Scramble Golf Tournament. This year's venue will be one of Phoenix's most challenging courses that winds through the foothills behind the Resort Hotel. A combination of true desert holes and more "links" style holes will challenge each group.

For those who played in this event in the mid-90's, the course has recently undergone a renovation to increase user friendliness. We will have much more daylight (May versus November) and hope for much drier and warmer conditions.

The format for this year's event will be the four-person Step Aside Scramble. In order to make sure we all make the Tuesday evening CAS social event, the Step Aside format allows each player in the group to tee off. The game continues by selecting the best spot to play the next shot. All players except the person whose shot location is selected will play the next stroke. Play continues in this format until the ball is on the green at which time all players will putt.

You may construct your own scramble team. Individuals are free to register separately or in combination with other meeting attendees. In order to ensure fairness and allow for a truly competitive tournament, the net event will be run on 40% handicap - adjusted basis. Registrants should enter their most current handicaps (USGA Index) or average score on the entry form. Please note that individual handicaps will be limited to a maximum of 40.

In addition to the prizes for the low teams (gross and net), we will again have contests for long drive (male and female) and closest to the pin (male and female).

The Golf Club is located at the Resort Hotel so we should now have time to join the Tuesday event on time.

Club rentals are available through the course (602) 431-6480 and will be at your own expense.
