Seminar Overview
The 2005 Seminar on Reinsurance will:

  • Feature two general sessions on the topics of the actuary's role in managing the insurance cycle and the recent activity on Capitol Hill concerning major insurance issues.
  • Offer over 20 concurrent sessions on reinsurance topics such as advanced exposure rating, medical malpractice, crop insurance, D&O Marketplace, ceded reinsurance, catastrophe pricing and global portfolios, purchasing of reinsurance, regulatory issues, and call papers on the topic of "Pricing Low-Frequency, High-Risk Exposures".
  • Provide practical approaches to problems and the opportunity for discussion.
  • Allow participants to gain awareness and insight into difficult issues and share their own ideas.

Who Should Attend
The program is intended primarily for the experienced actuary (or other experienced industry professional) with knowledge of reinsurance. Some sessions will involve technical pricing, reserving, and modeling issues, while others will be of a more general reinsurance nature.

Continuing Education
This seminar will enable actuaries and other professionals to update their knowledge of reinsurance and to help meet their continuing professional education requirements.
