Overview
|
The Risk and Capital Management Seminar (RCMS) and the Enterprise Risk Management
Symposium (ERMS) present excellent opportunities for actuaries and other risk professionals to broaden their
skill base in these important areas. The RCMS maintains a focus on the property/casualty insurance
industry and the role that casualty actuaries can play in managing risk and capital. The ERMS looks at the
broader financial services industry and addresses risk issues common to these organizations. Those topics
are presented from both CAS and SOA perspectives. We think it is ideal for the interested actuary to
attend boththe RCMS for its focus on property/casualty insurance issues, and the ERMS to gain an
understanding of how risk is viewed from a broader financial services and corporate context.

CAS Risk and Capital Management Seminar
|
The seminar is intended for property/casualty actuaries and other professionals interested in the
various approaches used to manage risk and capital for a property/casualty insurance company. Others
interested in the seminar may include corporate risk managers, asset managers, academics, and any
other professional interested in learning more about risk and capital management, DFA, as well as
emerging research from the Casualty Actuarial Society.

|
CAS/SOA Enterprise Risk Management Symposium |
This symposium is intended for all actuaries and other risk management professionals interested
in enterprise risk management. Professionals who will benefit from attending the ERM Symposium
include, insurance risk managers, chief actuaries, pension ALM practitioners, and investment actuaries from
both SOA and CAS membership. Some sessions are intended to provide both property/casualty and
life, pensions, and health perspectives. Other sessions will focus on the broader financial services
industry. This is, therefore, an ideal learning opportunity for those interested in information about current
emerging risk management trends and practices both within the insurance industry and beyond.
