Seminar Overview
The 2004 Seminar on Ratemaking provides a forum for the presentation and discussion of
ratemaking methods, concepts, and issues. Sessions are available for insurance professionals with ratemaking
knowledge levels that vary from limited to advanced. Due to the proximity of many actuarial students to the Philadelphia
area, the 2004 seminar will feature an expanded basic track. This seminar provides an opportunity for actuaries
to further their continuing education.
Over 50 different sessions will be offered, covering data management and technology, workers
compensation, commercial lines, personal lines, risk and capital management, reinsurance, regulatory and specialty topics.
To encourage audience participation, time will be provided at the end of each session for questions.
The seminar will kick off with a general session on Thursday, featuring a discussion of the current
medical malpractice crisis, and the underwriting cycle in general.
