2002 Seminar on Ratemaking General Information  


ENROLLMENT INFORMATION
The fee for the seminar is $600 ($950 Canadian) for active candidates, Associates, and Fellows of the Casualty Actuarial Society. An active candidate of the CAS is defined as one who has attempted at least one actuarial exam in the last two calendar years. Registrations from non-CAS members are welcome and encouraged. The fee for this category is $700 ($1,106 Canadian). Government employees will be offered a 50 percent discounted fee.

The registration fee covers a light welcome reception on Wednesday, breakfast and breaks on Thursday and Friday, Thursday's lunch and reception, and all materials.

Due to limited space and anticipated demand, you are urged to register as soon as possible. Registrations received after February 15, 2002, will be subject to a $50 late fee. The CAS Office staff will send a confirmation by regular mail to all registrants.

CANCELLATION POLICY
Registration fees will be refunded for cancellations received by February 27, 2002, at the CAS Office, less a $50 ($83 Canadian) processing fee. Only written cancellations will be honored. Faxed cancellation requests will be accepted at (703) 276-3108.

A limited number of rooms have been reserved for the evenings of March 6-8, 2002. Rates are $169 for a single or double room. Please call the hotel directly at (813) 221-4900 to make your reservation. Hotel reservations must be made by February 12, 2002. Be sure to mention that you are attending the Casualty Actuarial Society Ratemaking Seminar to receive the special rate.

Please note that one night's room and tax will be charged to your credit card as a deposit when you make your reservation. Reservation cancellations will be accepted up until 6:00 p.m. on the date of the reservation without penalty. Check-in is at 4:00 p.m. and check-out is at 12:00 noon. Late checkouts will be handled on a case by case basis per request. If you believe you will need a late check-out, it is recommended that you make the request during check-in.

AIRLINE INFORMATION
Delta Air Lines, the designated carrier for the Ratemaking Seminar, is offering discounted airfares to all seminar attendees. To take advantage of the reduced fare, please call Delta Air Lines at (800) 241-6760 and refer to file number DMN169223A.

GROUND TRANSPORTATION
The Tampa Marriott Waterside is approximately 10 minutes from Tampa International Airport. The Super Shuttle limo service is available at the airport for $10 one way and $18 round trip to the hotel. Advanced notice reservations are recommended but not required. To contact Super Shuttle, call (727) 572-1111 or (800) 282-6817. Cab fare from Tampa International Airport to Tampa Marriott Waterside is approximately $14.

ATTIRE
Business casual attire is suggested for all sessions, as well as the receptions on Wednesday and Thursday evenings. Since meeting room temperatures vary, it is recommended that you bring a sweater or jacket to the sessions.
