The seminar will open with a general session on Sunday afternoon. Monday will begin with a general session followed by four sets of concurrent sessions. Three concurrent sessions will be held on Tuesday, and lunch will be provided on Monday only.

The seminar will contain over 50 different sessions. To encourage audience participation, time will be provided at the end of each session for questions.

The general session on Sunday will feature a mock ABCD hearing and the presentation of the Ratemaking and Data call paper awards. Presidential remarks from Pat Grannan will be highlighted in Monday's general session. In addition, the general session will feature a roundtable on emerging issues facing the insurance industry from the regulatory perspective.

Introductory Sessions

Introductory sessions will cover the standard ratemaking process for personal lines coverage. These sessions are designed for beginning candidates, underwriters, and other insurance professionals who are unfamiliar with the ratemaking process and will demonstrate the pricing process from data collection through the evaluation of marketing issues for a particular line of business.

Data Management Sessions

Data management sessions are intended for those who are concerned with managing data and information, particularly in light of emerging technology.

Financial and Dynamic Financial Analysis Sessions

Financial and dynamic financial analysis sessions are for actuaries who are interested in financial analysis applications.

Workers Compensation Sessions

Workers compensation sessions are designed for actuaries who have experience with basic workers compensation ratemaking and pricing techniques.

Commercial Lines Sessions

Commercial Lines sessions are recommended for actuaries and underwriters who seek to expand their knowledge in the product development and pricing areas for the vast variety of commercial insureds.

Personal Lines Sessions

Personal lines sessions will cover topical issues in risk classification such as auto type, credit history, and ratemaking in various locations such as the U.S., specifically California, and the U.K.

Property Sessions

Property sessions are designed for those who are involved in pricing property lines products with catastrophe potential. Sessions will cover hurricane and earthquake exposures, as well as nonhurricane storm exposures. A specific session is devoted to discussion of current Florida hurricane issues, with another session on emerging issues in homeowners insurance.

Regulatory Sessions

Regulatory sessions will include panels on giving expert testimony in rate hearings and discussion of emerging issues.

Reinsurance Sessions

Reinsurance sessions address a broad range of topics. These panels will presume that attendees have at least a general knowledge of the subject.

Ratemaking Call Papers

Ratemaking call paper sessions feature selected authors who submitted their papers to the CAS Research Committee on Ratemaking for their 2001 Call Paper Program. These authors will present and discuss their ideas.

Data Call Papers

Data call papers were submitted to the CAS Management of Data and Information Committee and the Insurance Data Management Association 2001 Call Paper Program. Selected authors will present and discuss their ideas.
