The 2004 Annual Meeting of the Casualty Actuarial Society provides a forum for actuaries and other professionals to stay abreast of current issues affecting the insurance industry.
This meeting will allow actuaries to pursue their continuing education requirements.
General Sessions are planned on a variety of topics,
- Reinsurance Worldwide
- Workers Compensation Update
- Reserve Adequacy and the Underwriting Cycle
- Actuaries and Actuarial Issues Around the World
The featured speaker is John Krubski. In addition, a variety of concurrent sessions are planned.
Time has been allotted for informal discussion with other CAS members. In addition to two scheduled receptions, attendees and accompanying persons will enjoy a buffet dinner and entertainment at the Windsor Station on Tuesday evening. Please see the guest activity program for details.
CAS/CIA Joint Meeting
The Casualty Actuarial Society (CAS) and the Canadian Institute of Actuaries (CIA) will hold a joint session in Montréal, Québec, Canada on November 17, 2004. The joint session will take place as part of the closing of the CAS Annual Meeting and the opening of the CIA General Meeting.
The morning will begin with the general session "Actuaries and Actuarial Issues Around the World," which will feature a distinguished panel of leaders of international actuarial organizations presenting their views on several key questions facing the actuarial profession. The concurrent sessions that follow will address topics of mutual interest to the members of both societies. The luncheon speaker will be Bruce Kirkby, one of a new breed of extreme explorers, adventureres and photographers.
